GENERAL PURPOSE TREATED: The Black-Oxide treatment increases abrasion resistance, allows for increased chip flow, and helps eliminate chip welding. Used for drilling cast iron and carbon steels.
HEAVY DUTY TREATED: Designed for drilling cotter pin holes and steering knules, it is also recommended for drilling high tensile strength steel. The heavy-duty drill is furnished with a 135° Split Point except in sizes smaller than 1/16th in fractional sizes and 52 in wire gauge sizes. The self-centering split-point helps eliminate walking at the drill point to provide more accurate drilling. The Black-Oxide treatment increases abrasion resistance, allows for increased chip flow, and helps eliminate chip welding.
HIGH SPIRAL - HIGH HELIX (FAST SPIRAL) BRIGHT: Designed for the drilling of deep holes and has a 118° point, the high helix and open flutes allow for chips to clear the hole easily. This drill can be used in low tensile strength aluminum, copper, magnesium, and die casting materials. Other materials include soft steels, free machining brass and bronze, stainless steels, and screw machine stock. link to high spiral drill page
DYNA-FLUTE (PARA-FLUTE) BRIGHT: This drill with a 118° point is designed for rapid deep hole drilling, with the ability to operate at faster feed rates with reduced thrust. The special web construction with a wide parabolic shaped flute increases the chip removal rate and allows coolant to flow to the drill point. Due to its special geometry, wood-pecking or periodic retracting is virtually eliminated.
COBALT: Cobalt drills come in
a variety of sizes and styles. The cobalt is heat resistant,
and they can be used in a number of different applications including,
screw machines, and portable drilling applications used for drilling
hard, tough materials.
| |
